In 2012 we started the process to update our fleet of boats, using the latest technology and innovation, our R&D technicians have worked hard creating and designing our new boats as well as improving on our fittings.
The team focused on five areas to make our boat better-
The team focused on five areas to make our boat better-
DRAG
Aero and Hydro-dynamic drag uses up your power. We utilize that knowledge to make you faster.
STIFFNESS
Our boat stiffness gives you the confidence and control to put all your power into the boat, without the weight!
WEIGHT
Our engineering process ensures that Falcon Racing endeavors to make one of the world’s best boats.
COMFORT
Speed not only comes from aerodynamic and weight factors, but also depends on your comfort in the boat
SIMPLICITY
Standard components and intuitive adjustments makes a Falcon boat simple to own and easy to enjoy.
Our biggest investment has gone in changing our carbon supply, we now use Prepreg Carbon.
What is prepreg carbon???
Prepreg is the common term for "pre-impregnated” where the carbon fiber fabric has been impregnated with a mixture of epoxy resin and hardener using precisely calibrated machinery.
Because the resin has been precisely applied to the carbon fiber fabric, boats made with prepreg carbon fiber can consistently have the perfect resin to reinforcement ratio. Therefore, prepreg carbon offers the best strength to weight ratio possible making it a perfect fit for rowing boats. Another benefit to the perfect spread of resin is you have no ‘dry spots’, compared to the wet layup where the uneven spread of resin can lead to delamination.
Using prepreg carbon fiber requires high temperature tolerant molds, in 2012 we started the process to build a new fleet of molds with material imported from the United Kingdom. Our new molds can hold up to the heat prepreg carbon requires, the combination of our high modulus carbon and resin is what allows us to have a stiff boat that will last a long time. This is something you must consider when deciding between each boat brand.
Other high performance products using prepreg carbon's strength to weight ratio range from tennis rackets to bike frames and bike wheels, to Formula 1 racing cars and Boeing's 787 Dreamliner.
We are very proud of our boat construction, we are open and honest about the construction of our boats and we hope that you choose our boat for the technology we have invested into it.
Why choose prepreg carbon over the wet lay-up process?
I have put this page together to help those of you that don't know about carbon fiber. This page does not fully represent the advantages that prepreg carbon has to offer, (I will update this page at a later date). In the meantime I encourage you to do your own research and ask questions.

Why choose prepreg carbon over the wet lay-up process?
- No accidental drips of resin or dry spots to compromise appearance or performance.
- Consistent resin content means prepreg boats come out of a mould identical.
- Using prepreg carbon translate to savings on wasted materials, supplies, and time spent on wet lay-up and clean-up.
- After the heating cure is complete prepreg boats are ready without additional waiting time.
